GoPro Hero8 Black (Review)

It is introducing the first redesign in three generations of the leading action camera. It also adds the best motion stabilization we've ever seen. In the action-camera market, GoPro emerged many years ago with its well-built, easy-to-use cameras, which can be attached to almost anything with an assortment of accessories branded and third-party. GoPro Hero8 provides even better image stabilization, a sleeker design, and new accessories for GoPro's most enhanced camera. Due to these enhancements, the GoPro is among the most popular action cameras and one of the best GoPro Cameras.

In addition to being water-resistant, the Hero8 Black does not require a case, which was the first new feature introduced with the Hero5. There are some welcome updates, but there are others that fall short. Among the most notable changes is the company's redesigned GoPro mount with foldable fingers that collapse into the bottom of the camera. With the Hero8, the lens protrudes less than in previous versions because it is noticeably narrower. Since the lens can no longer be replaced, this eliminates a potential failure point and means that third-party lenses cannot be attached or a broken lens can't be replaced. GoPro has moved the Power/Mode button to the left side of the device. Compared to the Hero 7, the GoPro Hero8 Black has a slightly larger screen. After turning on Boost, my footage was so smooth that I exclaimed, "Wow!" when I watched it for the first time. In the Hero8 Black, three microphones are equipped under the lens, which provides the best audio I've ever heard from any GoPro platform without an external microphone. I could speak clearly into the camera while holding it about 18 inches from my mouth. Even GoPro added a menu to customize the sound when an external microphone is plugged in, based on its type (standard, powered, or line level, if it receives audio feed from a soundboard). Hero8's Mods are among the most promising additions, especially those for vloggers. This system is based on the Media Mod, a relatively open plastic frame with a built-in directional shotgun microphone. Though I have not been able to test these media mods directly, the Media Mod is the system's backbone. Furthermore, the Media Mod adds a 3.5-millimeter jack for a microphone and a USB-C port for charging and data.
